Songwriter and producer Paul K (Basilica, Tusken Coalition) releases his debut solo album “Soul Connection” on 15th October 2007 through BasilicaMusic.
This album of electronica based instrumentals is a prequel to a book Paul is writing entitled “Soul Connected” and is a unique opportunity for listeners to interact directly with the artist and contribute to the content of the book….
“Soul Connection” features lush electronic textures and beats combined with acoustic and electric guitars, rich string arrangements, and haunting piano passages to produce an album that provokes the listener to submerge themselves in the textures of the sound and feel the raw emotion of the music. Likened by early reviewers to a mix of Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and Erik Satie the album is both experimental and classical in its song structures and instrumentation.
The sleeve notes of the album invite the listener to email their thoughts, feelings, emotions, recollections and reviews to book@basilicamusic.com , the best of which will make it into the book. The feedback received will be printed as text and interpreted into digital art by Matt Vickerstaff (Kerrang, Earache, Darkwaveart). This project is a unique experiment in sound design and interpretation and the results of the feedback will offer a unique insight into the connection between music and the subconscious and will be followed up by a second album containing lyrical interpretations of the instrumental tracks.
